The Noble Fir to reopen again after sale falls through

For the second time, The Noble Fir  (5316 Ballard Ave NW) will be reopening after the sale of the business fell through.

Co-owner Ellen Kelly tells My Ballard that the latest buyers backed out at the last minute, which means they’re reopening the bar.

Ellen and her husband Rick Weersing* opened The Noble Fir in 2010. They had buyers lined up in mid-2022, but the buyers pulled out just prior to finalizing. So they reopened and put it back up for sale in September.

In December, the Kellys announced they had new buyers lined up, and that The Noble Fir would become Belleau Wood. Now, that sale has also fallen through.

So, the Kellys are holding a “Grand Re-Reopening” party on Monday, Jan. 30 at 4 p.m. They’ll then remain open until they find another buyer.

The bar is still listed for sale; contact the Kellys via their website for more information.

*Correction: Ellen Kelly’s partner is named Rick Weersing, not Mark Kelly as previously reported.
