Shuttered Bickersons Brewhouse in Ballard auctioning off brewery equipment

The now-closed Bickersons Brewhouse in Ballard (1514 Leary Way NW) is having an auction to sell its brewing equipment.

Co-owners Frank Castro and Shaunn Siekawitch closed their Ballard location in August after Siekawitch was diagnosed with advanced-stage cancer. The brewery had been open for over three years after they took over the former Peddler Brewing in 2022.

“We cannot continue to run two locations and make sure Shaunn has the attention to care she needs,” they shared, adding that the Renton location would remain open.

They’d been looking for a buyer, but now are auctioning off their brewery equipment through James G. Murphy Co.

The auction starts on Tuesday, Nov. 18 at 10 a.m. and will be selling a 20-barrel, three-vessel brewhouse equipment set, fermentation tanks, a canning system, and a labeler, along with the large portable tent that covered Bickersons’ outdoor seating area out back.

The auction will remain open until Nov. 25.
