Great news for Sunset Hill: The cocktail bar Baker’s has a new owner and will remain open.
Earlier this month, Baker’s announced it would be closing at the end of January. Since the news broke, the owners say they’ve been touched by the support.
“The outpouring of support over the last month has been overwhelming, and we are truly and utterly grateful for all of your support,” they wrote. “It has meant the world to our team, and to all of us who care about keeping our little Sunset Hill staple alive.”
And now, it looks like Baker’s will live on: They said they’re working with Molly Ringe from Molly’s Bottle Shop on a transition that would allow her to take over and keep Baker’s open.
“What does this mean?? It means that Baker’s will remain open with a slightly modified schedule in February during the transition process and will continue on in the capable hands of @mollysbottleshop once the process is complete!” the owners wrote.
“In the meantime, we need you!! Please keep coming in. Please keep showing love. And please keep supporting our team while we work through this transfer period and finalize all the details.”
While the plan is to stay open, Baker’s will close temporarily Feb. 1 – 4 so they can reset and reopen on Feb. 5.
