A look inside the Art Church

We stopped by grand opening party of the Art Church at 61st St. and 20th Ave. to snap a few photos of artist Marianne Maksirisombat’s collection inside.

We arrived just as the party was getting underway. The pews are gone, and Maksirisombat’s artwork lines the walls in the congregation hall.

New mural next to Green Go

No, it’s not Henry painting this mural on a fence on 20th Ave. It’s artist Todd Lown, who’s seen here putting the finishing touches on a mural of the great outdoors right next to Green Go Food, the new restaurant that replaced Patty Pan. (Thanks Josh for the tip!)

The 25 meter pool and spa overlook the Ship Canal. Click below for more photos and the story on why LA Fitness said it opened later than expected…

Mandrakes last day this Sunday

After a total of 16 years in Ballard, Mandrakes Antiques is closing this Sunday. Owner Craig Keister put up the big “Uncle” signs in the windows right after the holiday season, which he described as “a total flop.” This last weekend, Mandrake’s has antiques for sale at deep discounts, so stop on by.
